Ten natural tips for restoring eyes, skin and hair after exposure to the sun!

Ten natural tips for restoring eyes, skin and hair after exposure to the sun!

  1. Drink plenty of water – It’s pretty simple yet a lot of us forget to do it. Our bodies are supposed to be 80% water so if your body is hydrated then it will be much easier for your cells to repair. Infuse water with ice and fresh mint leaves for taste and extra hydration.
  2. Eat as many raw, preferably organic fruits and vegetables as possible as they have a high water and nutrient content. Greens as such as kale, silver beet, spinach and watercress are loaded with vitamins and minerals (A, B, C, K, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and zinc). Citrus fruits and berries are also full of vitamins (A, C, E) and antioxidants. These are all vital nutrients that assist and promote cell renewal and repair. Avocados, nuts and seeds have omegas and are loaded with good fats.Carrots are full of beta-carotene, an essential nutrient for good eye and skin health.Cucumber, celery, lettuce and melons are super hydrating.
  3. Swim in the ocean. The cold, salt infused, mineral rich water will cleanse and soothe skin. The negative ions of the ocean will also revitalize your energy, which inevitably helps healing.
  4. Have a cool, not cold, bath and add 3-5 drops of pure lavender oil. Lavender heals burns but must be diluted with water.
  5. Massage coconut oil into your hair, scalp and all over your body while in the shower. Leave on hair and scalp for 5-10 minutes and wash out with natural shampoo or apple cider vinegar. Coconut oil can be left on your skin.
  6. Rub Aloe Vera liberally on skin after washing. The aloe will soothe skin and reduce redness.
  7. Place two teaspoons in the freezer until very cold. Place spoon end over each of your closed eyelids and leave for as long as comfortable. Repeat a few times that day and the next morning. This will bring the burn out of the eyes and reduce any puffiness.
  8. Practice eye exercises regularly to build and maintain strength in the eyeball. For example, look as far left as possible without turning your head, hold for 3 seconds and look right without turning head and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat this for 2 – 5 mins. Next, look from up to down and from down to up for 3 seconds at a time.
  9. For long-term repair and defence infuse your favourite carrier oil like almond oil, avocado oil or grape seed oil with essential oils such as carrot seed oil and palmarosa oil. Use regularly on face, neck, chest and shoulders. Both carrot seed and palmarosa have super anti-aging and depigmentation qualities.
  10. Avoid consuming any processed sugars, dairy products and meats when in a time of healing as they could create a much more acidic body system thereby slowing down the rate of healing.
